Training Log 27/02/2013

Upper body hypertrophy

I was well up for some big bench pressing last night! Last week I'd completed 4x8 @ 92.5kg so I wanted to try 95kg for 4x8. I did my warm up (rotator cuff mobility ) and loaded the bar. I was chatting with my training partner and ended up putting 105kg on the bar. I quite fancied trying 100kg so I took the 2.5s off and set up for the lift. I managed 2x8 with the 100kg, I was well impressed, the 3rd set went 6 @ 97.5kg + 2 @ 95kg the fourth set was the same ... Bit random but good solid lifts.

Bench
2x8 @ 100kg
2x8 @ 97.5kg + 2@ 95kg

Cable fly
4x8 @ pin 5

Shoulder press
4x8 @ 50kg

Lateral raises
4x10 @ 20lb

Reverse curls
4x8 20kg

Barbell curl
21s x 2 haven't done these for about 10 years lol

Sometimes it really pays off to aim a little higher.
